Update: Homewood Campus Parking Options The new South Garage opening is near. As construction nears completion, Mason Hall (the Visitor Center/Admissions Office) and the new Computational Sciences and Engineering Building (CSEB) on the south end of campus will open. The South Garage, a 600 space below ground parking facility, will become available for monthly and visitor parking on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. 400 spaces will be available to monthly permit holders, and 200 will be reserved for JHU and BMA visitors. In preparation for this new and long awaited amenity, the Homewood Office of Parking and Transportation announces four parking options: - South garage general parking will be $82 per month.
- South garage reserved parking will be $110 per month. This will consist of a reserved numbered space.
- The Wyman East surface lot becomes the Wyman Reserved lot, available for $74 per month for a reserved numbered space.
- Faculty hangtags will be $82 per month. This consists of exclusive access to faculty parking spaces behind Clark Hall, around Shriver, NEB, Maryland and Whitehead, beside Mudd Hall and behind AMR B.
Those choosing to purchase a faculty hangtag will not have access to the South garage. Rather, the Wyman Reserved lot will serve as the faculty hangtag overflow parking area. In the case of filled faculty spaces, faculty hangtag permit-holders will have access to the Wyman Reserved lot. It is important to understand this distinction as you select your parking option. The South Garage will also become the primary visitor parking area. The Stony Run lot will no longer be used as a daily visitor lot beyond August 31. Visitors will be asked to enter the South Garage by pulling a ticket at the entrance gate, and can then either pay or receive a voucher to exit the garage. Departments wishing to purchase vouchers should contact the parking office to setup an account. Furthermore, and to better serve regular visitors and part-time employees, the San Martin Garage will available for $5 per day. Monthly rates at the San Martin garage will remain $82 for general parking and $110 for reserved parking. The Stony Run and Wyman West lots will be available for $53 per month, expanding south campus surface lot capacity by over 100 spaces. Other Homewood surface lot parking will also be available for $53 per month, including the Education Building lot, Muller Deck, and other Homewood parking areas. Parking at Eastern will also be $53 per month. The West Gate garage will remain reserved parking, available for $110 per month. For everyone who desires a Homewood parking permit, you must visit the parking website to sign up: www.parking.jhu.edu. The open enrollment period begins today, July 9, and will continue until Friday, August 17. Notification of assignments will begin via email, on Monday, August 20. New choices go into effect on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. Depending on your selection, the appropriate hangtag, permit, transponder, and/or access will be provided in late August. As you prepare to submit your request, please be sure to have the following information available: Name, J-card number (beginning with 601…), vehicle info including: tag/plate number, make and model for each registered vehicle, e-mail address, Hopkins affiliation/department, phone number, PERNR number[1], and parking preference. Preference will be given to those currently in the Homewood paid parking system. If you are not currently a monthly parking customer, available parking options will be announced by mid-September.
