| Visitors to Johns Hopkins University are encouraged to park in one of four areas, as described below. Parking in any other area, lot, roadway, or campus property is a violation of JHU rules and will likely result in ticketing, booting and/or towing. The primary Visitor parking area is the South Garage. It can be accessed from Wyman Park Drive, between San Martin Drive and Art Museum Drive. The garage is located under the Decker Quadrangle. The garage will operate without parking attendants and is open 24 hours per day. However, the Parking Office in the garage will generally be staffed Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 10:00pm and weekends from 11:00am - 6:00pm to assist customers. The exit gates are programmed to accept paid entry tickets, exit vouchers and credit cards. Exit vouchers are available in two denominations: $8 for validated weekday parking and $4 for validated evening/weekend parking. Visitors using the $8 vouchers will simply need to insert the voucher at the exit gate regardless of their entry ticket. Those using the $4 vouchers must first insert their entry ticket and then the voucher. During special events, there may be times when attendants pre-sell exit vouchers to entering vehicles. Normal charge is $5 but signs will be posted indicating current prices. The San Martin garage is a fully automated garage, with pay stations available on the pedestrian walkbridge (headed toward campus) and the lobby (located on the P5 level of the garage, northern edge, near the Carnegie Institute). The garage also accepts credit card payments at the exit gates. Vouchers can be purchased by departments and offices for $4 each, but must be purchased in advance, and provided to visitors prior to their exiting the garage, as they are used for exit.
The North Visitor lot is a multi-space “pay and display” parking area, accessed from San Martin Drive. This 30 space area is located beside and downhill from the Athletic field, next to the ROTC building, and prior to entering the reserved sections of parking that includes the Muller Deck (gated) and Athletics Reserved parking (hangtag only). Visitors should park their car, pay with a credit card (or quarters if you’re patient!) at the meter, and put the resulting receipt face up on their dashboard. Visitors hang tags are available to departments and offices for $8 each, but must be purchased in advance, and provided to visitors prior to their arrival, as they must be dated and displayed in the vehicle while it is parked in the north visitor lot. Parking meters behind Clark Hall and Shriver Hall are in effect 3:45 PM-11:00 PM Monday-Friday, and all day Saturday & Sunday. Faculty hangtags are accepted in lieu of payment at all times. The rate is $1.00/half hour with a maxium charge of $5.00, valid until the end of the day.
Pay to park meter located in the Homewood Museum Lot, next to the Tennis Courts and the AMR buildings. Meter is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Credit cards and coins are accepted at the meter. The rate is $1.00/hour with a maximum consecutive use of 15 hours. Limited space available.
